squash. Planting Squash is simple: Make a mound spaced at least 5-10 feet away from anything else, make sure that mound is heavily fertilized, plant 3-5 seeds, wait a week for those seeds to sprout, wait another and thin the mound to 2-3 plants maximum, and then train the vines all season, watering heavily. This usually applies to any variety of Squash, and most of them are planted in early Summer and take 3-4 months to produce mature fruit.
