Cherokee Purple Tomato

The Cherokee Purple tomato is an Indeterminate Heirloom, purple in color, with green "shoulders." It is a beefsteak style tomato, and much lower in acid than most tomatoes, with deep red & green interior. It matures in 69-80 days. It has a mild smoky flavor, but is prone to disease, and may not be the most prolific producer in the garden, although production varies according to condition. The size of fruit averages about 16 oz. It does best with regular, liberal watering. It is early for an indeterminate, and the flavor is unique and delicious.
